I wanted to paint this scene for a long time, with it's various contrasting elements. I saw the delicate wild wheat in the foreground, with the hulking mass of the mossy tree behind. Then, add in the sunlight breaking through the trees. The greens of the lush forest with the contrasting pinks in the light refractions and the dryness of the beige grass.
