Please arrive 15 min early to get settled in.
Coffee, and tea will be provided.

Level of Difficulty: This workshop is open to all levels.

Media: Gouache

Workshop Description: Are you like me and thinking Gouache is used to just add highlights to a watercolour painting? Well, apparently not. You can actually do an entire painting in Gouache. Tom will show us how and explain more about Gouache. You will learn what is the difference between Gouache and other mediums, how to work with it. 

We will make a painting each day.

Supply List: I really believe the color palette students prefer is enough. I

  • Gouache

I do not rely on anything specific. I really recommend a good paper. Other than that, any color, any brush would work.

 

About the Instructor: Tom Taylor 

Tom was Born in Dortmund, Germany. Tom moved to Canada at a young age and lived in Northern B.C. for 14 years where his passion for art was fuelled. After graduating from the graphic arts program at Langara College. Tom then attended BCIT in the Architectural and Building Technology Program and graduated with a Architectural Design Major.While pursuing his business career, Tom continued painting and drawing after hours at home.

 

Tom now focuses the majority of his time to art. He works mainly in acrylics, gouache, watercolour and pencil. Tom has won numerous awards for his paintings and drawings as well as juried selections in B.C. arts competitions. For the demo Tom will be giving us a look at his techniques using Gouche.
