Workshop Description: When you mix colours, do they end up looking like mud? Or you can't seem to get the correct tone or shade of colour you are looking for? Don't know why your mixed colours turn out dull? In this workshop you will get to 'play' with your paints. You will learn

  • which colours are warm or cool in relation to one another;
  • how to mix vibrant or dull colours, depending on your needs;
  • how to mix beautiful greys;
  • how to match colours to your references;
  • how to tell the intrinsic value of each colour.

About the InstructorViena Wroblewska doesn’t just pull a rabbit out of a hat. With handouts, clear and simple instructions, a step by step demo, she will break the learning down into small pieces that anyone can absorb. You will also do a lot of learning by doing. After every step of the demo,  you will have a chance to reproduce each simple step on your own canvas, so that by the end of the two-day class, you are sure to feel confident about painting beautiful clouds and water in different forms.

Originally from Poland, Viena is a graduate of Vancouver’s Emily Carr University of Art + Design and has honed her skills over the years under North America’s leading contemporary artists, as well as collected a few awards along the way for her acrylic, oil and watercolour work. She passionate about both, painting and teaching painting.
