We offer a wide variety of workshops at Gallery 1710 designed to inspire artists at all skill levels. Led by experienced instructors and guest artists, our workshops are a great opportunity to learn new techniques, connect with the local arts community, and grow your creative practice.

Sep 26, 9:30 am – 4 pm
Always wanted to learn to paint in watercolour but too intimidated to try this notoriously difficult medium? Started but failed miserably in pools of watery frustration? Everything turning to mud on you? Join me for a day of mastering the main watercolour techniques from the ground up. This is great for beginners and those who would like a refresher.
Sep 27, 9:30 am – 4 pm
We will start with an introduction to drawing figures in an impressionistic manner for painting as opposed to life drawing realistic figures. Then we will practice figure shapes and poses, these will generally be small figures to add to your street scenes or landscapes etc.
Oct 24, 9:30 am – Oct 25, 4 pm
You’ll learn how to use a glass outliner to create the look of traditional stained-glass leading, then bring your design to life using beautiful glass paints in a variety of vibrant colours. With a hummingbird pattern as your guide, you’ll discover how easy and enjoyable it can be to create the beautiful illusion of stained glass—without the need for cutting or soldering glass.

First we need to study them, figure out the formations and take a deep look at the colours. Then we will paint some clouds. This is open to all mediums and all level of artists.Bring some of your cloud paintings, good or bad, to share with the group for discussion. Experienced cloud makers, please come and show us your work / process so that we can all learn together.
