Upcoming Workshops
May 2, 10 am – 1 pm
Come and have fun painting spring tulips. Ceci will step you through the process. This would be fun for the whole family or something you can do with your friends. Kids 12 and over are invited to come, accompanied by an adult. No experience necessary.
May 4, 2 pm – 5:30 pm
Trees are one of the joys of most landscapes, whether it be a conifer or deciduous, they bring a sense of scale and life to a painting. Learning how to look at a single tree or a forest of them and be able to translate what you “see” in a drawing or painting is what this workshop is about. Being aware of shapes, size, textures, species, volume, textures are things to explore.
May 9, 10 am – 2 pm
In this workshop we will each create two original plaques using impressions in sand and then cast in fortified plaster.
Jennifer will show you how to prepare your sandbox (provided) to receive the impressions that you choose, such as jewellery, small knickknacks, buttons and even organic items such as twigs, shells or leaves are suitable for this project. Once these items have been removed, we will mix our plaster and add it to solidify our design.
When the plaster is cured (hardened) we will begin to reveal the finished result.
This is a fun and satisfying event.
May 20, 12 pm – 4 pm
Chris will do an informal workshop, passing on his artistic knowledge. If you have a technique, you want to learn, you can just ask him and he will show you. Do you need help with perspective, getting depth, understanding waves bracket his specialty bracket, figures, portraits, abstract… You name it, and he has done it. So come and bring your work to paint with.
