This annual juried show is highly anticipated as it attracts entries from around the Lower Mainland. The calibre of work is always first-rate and the variety exceptional. An opening event will be held the evening of July 28th, with prizes awarded to the top entries.
Have you Heard the Owl Call Your Name? Please join the South Delta Artists' Guild (SDAG) and the Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society (OWL) in a day of education and celebration of our feathered friends. Creative artists have designed birdhouses which will be available for auction with proceeds to OWL and SDAG.
All things wine, food and spring-related provide the inspiration for this colourful show. The opening (time and date to be announced) will be a fun event, with wine tasting, food and fun!
English students at South Delta Secondary School will be invited to write about paintings done by art students and Guild members in what promises to be an exciting collaboration of talents. Enjoy the fruits of this collaboration at the opening, Saturday, January 8 from 1-4 pm and enjoy some refreshments.
The “Big & Small” art show presents the viewer with the drama of large size art works and the intrigue of small pieces. Artists often employ opposites such as dark & light, or lively & calm within their each of their compositions. At this show our “opposites” will be depicted with the use of scale; be it the very large or the very small.
A show of small paintings and other fine art pieces in time for gift-giving. A "Creative Cafe" coffee house with entertainment and treats will be held on November 13th from 1to 4 pm.
35 Years of Art: Then & Now. This well may be our best show yet. With founding members of the Guild displaying works on the "Founders Wall" and contributions from the majority of our group. Come see a large display of skill, variety and talent.

Light and shadow are the yin and the yang of the visual world - the contrasts on which our perceptions depend. Light and shadow gives us the world of human understanding. So, the artist works with the light and the shadows to convey the mood, the vibrancy, the reflective, the sorrowful, and the joyful as the means to share their artistic experience.
This show emphasizes design and composition in drawing, painting, collage and mixed media. A wide range of subject matter and technique will be on display.
Does an artist see the world differently than others? Are they born with the gift of vivid sight or is their eye practiced to see details that others miss? A shadow, the contrast between an object and its background, the play of light on a subject; these are things that make the difference between an ordinary painting and one that is really exciting.
We'll all be celebrating everything Canadian as we get ready for the 2010 Olympics and the artists of the South Delta Artists' Guild are no exception. Works representing all the wonderful qualities of our great nation will be available for sale.
Looking for great art in a small package or a bold piece on a large canvas? Sometimes artists express themselves in small ways, using fine brushstrokes to shape an idea. They may also go big utilizing the space a large canvass provides and strike out with bold strokes and details to develop their idea.
Good things come in small packages and this show features small paintings and other treasures, just in time for holiday shopping. Also find original tiny artworks, ready to hang on the tree or tuck in a stocking.
This open juried show attracts artists from across Canada and includes work in all "oil and water" mediums including watercolour, acrylic, oils and mixed media. Many awards are offered in a variety of categories.

This exhibition runs in conjunction with the lower mainland hosting the international Police and Firefighters games. Heroes is a theme that celebrates the bravery of all those who protect us.
Art, both visual and audible have an amazing ability to aid in healing, raising the spirit and soothing the soul. The opening reception is Saturday, May 2nd from 1:00 - 4:00. Partial proceeds will be donated to the Delta Hospice Society. There will be a draw for donated works by several artists.
April 2009 features works in motion. It could be a brushstroke, subject matter or an artist moving as the process of developing art moves from an idea to a visual representation.
