About Me

I have been painting off and on for a number of years - starting with watercolors when my children were small. Over the years I have gravitated to using acrylics and a mixed media approach which I find more flexible and liberating. Using this approach I have found I have started to feel more free and creative and basically I am just having more fun. I still do representational painting when the mood strikes me or when I see something that just begs to be painted but I am moving more and more toward abstraction. I am experimenting with color, stamps and stencils. A passion for pattern is evident in my more recent work.

I am primarily a self taught artist although I have taken a number of classes and workshops in the past from local BC artists including Donna Baspaly, Terresa Bernard and Mike Svob to name a few. Inspiration for my new work in collage has come from artists such as Anne Bagby and Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson.

I am a member of the South Delta Arists Guild(SDAG), the Federation of Canadian Artists(FCA) and Contemporary Fine Arts International (CFAI).
