Jenn Conway
| Jen is a late starter developing that which we all have within us - the power to create. She is largely self taught with the exception of that important first introduction to drawing, form and colour that lit the fire. She has since attended many workshops to learn new techniques and ideas. Being born and raised in Africa has given Jen the opportunity to experience a wide range of topography, from the lush and rugged beauty of B.C. to the harsh, stark earth of Africa. She likes to experiment with media and texture, weaving imagination with reality and the happy expectation of the birth of an idea. She loves to paint “en plein air” but also works from her studio at home in Ladner. Jen is a member of the South Delta Artists Guild and enjoys the weekly drop in figure drawing sessions, allowing her the opportunity to experience and appreciate a wide range of models. It is painting the human form, so unique yet diverse that is her passion. She also loves to paint portraits and has been commissioned several times. Jen knows that the act of creating art is all-empowering. She believes that art is a means of expression and a form of communication with the viewer as well as being fulfilling for herself personally.
